Come to Church or You’re Not Saved!

Wait, what? What is salvation? I think it is time for a back to basics lesson, because as the days get darker and time seems to be steamrolling past us, it seems like people…umm..”Christians” have forgotten the basic mandate Jesus gave us.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. -Matt. 28:19-20.

“Go therefore….make disciples…of all nations…”. I know later in our bibles we are told not to forsake the assembling of ourselves and other variations of gathering: Hebrews 10:25, Colossians 3:16, Acts 2:42, Acts 9:31, but in all these scriptures I did not see a mandate  that church attendance is a requirement to be saved. We have veered off-track people of God!

Welcome to the…New. World.

Story courtesy of M. Barnhart, Christian (2014).

The New York-based Satanic Temple on Monday submitted its designs for a monument that it aims to have placed at the Oklahoma Capitol next to the Ten Commandments. The sculpture will feature a 7-foot-tall goat-headed creature, Baphomet, as Satan, which will be flanked by two adoring children – one boy and one girl – smiling as they look up to the creature that will be large enough so that tourists can sit in its lap.

Lucien Greaves, the spokesman for New York’s Satanic Temple, told The Christian Post on Tuesday that the organization wanted to include children in the sculpture because they are “very concerned for children’s rights and child welfare.”

“We are looking to take up the fight against corporal punishment in schools, which is still allowed in 19 states, sometimes results in children’s admission into hospital emergency rooms, and has no beneficial effect, according to any credible empirical research. We hope that today’s children can grow up in enriching environments that cultivate their curiosity, and divorced from the damaging and divisive demonologies of the past,” Greaves asserted.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Satanic Temple had already raised $19,834 of its $20,000 goal to fund the process of sculpting their monument to Satan.

Last month, CP reported that the organization sent a letter to Oklahoma officials expressing its interest in erecting the sculpture that proposes to be a “homage to the historic/literary Satan.”

In the letter, Greaves also accuses Republican state Rep. Mike Ritze of “helping a satanic agenda grow more than any of us possibly could,” because he has privately funded the Ten Commandments display that sits outside the state’s capitol. The Ten Commandments monument, however, was also approved by the Oklahoma legislature in 2009.

Trait Thompson, chair for the State Capitol Preservation Commission, told CP that any proposed artwork “must be evaluated by the architecture and grounds committee.” He added that the Decalogue display did not go through the typical process for a capitol monument.

“In the case of the Ten Commandments monument, the legislature passed a bill in 2009 authorizing the monument to be placed, so it was not approved through our typical process. The CPC’s only role was to select a location for the monument,” Thompson said when asked by CP why the monument, if it’s ever erected, would be large enough for tourists and visitors to sit in the 7-foot-tall satanic figure’s lap, Greaves explained, “We wanted our monument to serve some type of functional purpose – to have some type of interactive element – for the visitors in Oklahoma City who come to see it.”

Even though the satanist group is based in New York, they are not petitioning to build a similar sculpture in that state, because as Greaves asserts, the organization merely acted on behalf of its members who reside in Oklahoma.

“To be clear, it was Oklahomans who petitioned us for this monument, and we filed on their behalf. We have membership in Oklahoma City, and we represent a segment of the population there. Further, we know of no similar circumstances in New York where a religious monument sits on public grounds.”

Greaves continued: “Where the separation of church and state is respected, the Satanic Temple will never move to revise the laws to allow a monument of theirs to stand on its own. Our monument is explicitly meant to complement and contrast the Ten Commandments monument. While it may be best if religious monuments are left off of state property, when the situation arises that the state breaks down the separation of church and state, it is best that a multiplicity of religious voices are represented, rather than allowing one group to apparently co-opt the power and authority of the capitol.”

However, Republican state Rep. Don Armes, said in a NewsOK report that a satanic sculpture isn’t going to be erected at the state’s capitol, a location some call the belt of the “Bible Belt.”

“I think you’ve got to remember where you are. This is Oklahoma, the middle of the heartland,” Armes asserted. “I think we need to be tolerant of people who think different than us, but this is Oklahoma, and that’s not going to fly here.”

This is the BOLDNESS The Lord seeks after!

While delivering his graduation speech over the weekend, a high school valedictorian sent shock waves through the crowd when he ditched his original speech and recited the Lord’s Prayer instead.

According to NBC affiliate, Roy Costner IV, who attended Liberty High School in Liberty, S.C., stunned those gathered at his school’s graduation ceremony on Saturday when he ripped up his pre-approved speech at the podium before addressing the crowd.

“Those that we look up to, they have helped carve and mold us into the young adults that we are today. I’m so thankful that both of my parents led me to the Lord at a young age,” Costner said moments before launching into the Lord’s Prayer.

Christian News reports that Costner had apparently decided to recite the prayer in protest of his school district’s decision to omit prayer at graduation ceremonies.

As Costner prayed, many of those gathered broke out into applause. Soon the auditorium was filled with cheers of encouragement.

“You couldn’t even hear him doing the prayer anymore because everybody was clapping and cheering,” Brian Hoover, who attended the graduation, told

Costner told Fox Carolina this week that it had been “an emotional moment,” looking out and seeing the crowd’s reaction.

A spokesperson for the Pickens County School District said that Costner would not be reprimanded for his prayer. “The bottom line is, we’re not going to punish students for expressing their religious faith,” John Eby said, according to Christian News.

Have a blessed day!

Ready? Set…..GO!

Dateline: Sunday morning. You get a call and it goes a little something like this (from the female perspective):

Friend: Hey Girl!

You: Hey!

Friend: Where did you go last night, I called you?

You: Girl I went to the club!

Friend: So what you up to today?

You: Ahhh, I’m going to church. I’m tired but I’m going.

Friend: Where you gonna be later?

You: Oh, just probably gonna go hang out for a bit. Then go back to sleep.

Friend: That’s cool, so call me when you want to go hang out sometime. Have fun at church.

You: Thanks girl, God bless you!

There’s a lot of “going” in the above scenario, and the irony is that in all of the going this individual is actually stagnant. If somebody tells you to “go” they usually expect some action to follow their directive right? When you were little and your mother told you, “Go to sleep boy/girl!” you went to sleep, no questions asked. If your spouse said, “honey please go to the store and pick up some potatoes for dinner”, you would go…or else you might not get dinner. If your child runs track you may be in the stands yelling…”Goooooo!” and if they hear you it will give them that boost to turn on the jets and speed up because Daddy’s watching and cheering them on. In the KJV of the bible the word GO is used more than 1,400 times! That is incredible. I am sure that many of us can spout off three or four verses where we have been told to “go”, but do we actually go?  Read the rest of this entry »

*WARNING* (Stranger Danger) To the Church!

As a fellow Pastor and Christian, I feel It is my duty to warn all local churches and church members, especially in the immediate area.

There have been numerous reports of a man coming in many of our local churches and intentionally causing trouble. According to the description I was given, aside from having long hair and a beard, he is described as being rather plain looking, medium height and wears very loose clothing.

There was a report of him entering a church and acting quite berserk. Throwing tables, yelling and frightening allot of people with his violent behavior.

I’ve been told that this man drinks alcohol frequently and according to a very reputable church, has a serious drinking problem. (or as they put it, a drunkard)

He has literally been seen with loose women and other people of questionable character and morals.

He has on different occasions entered some of our finest churches and Tabernacles and intentionally, publicly insulted the priests in front of everyone present.

Hopefully, if this man should try entering your church, your deacons and ushers can be prepared and if you wish, deter him from entering without any kind of violence or scene that could be witnessed by your congregation.

I have heard that several churches have refused to let him enter, though he seems very persistent.

Little else is known about him except that he goes by the name of “Jesus” and comes from a city called Nazareth, located somewhere in one of those “middle east” country’s where all the trouble is going on.

It is my sincere prayer that you or your church do not have to negatively confront this man. Then again, maybe he can be converted, so he could be more like us and no longer a threat to the church.

God Bless You

Why are we silent and the devil so loud?

I recently watched a documentary on the evil behind rock music and I was astonished by what I discovered. Not being a consumer of rock, heavy metal, death metal, etc. just learning what some of these people do to attain the small amount of fame and fortune astounded me. Of course I know that Satan is the prince of the air(waves), and I know that he influences a lot of the music that we hear, but I was shocked that during this documentary that I literally had to plead the blood of Jesus over myself whilst listening to some of the lyrics! The artists featured like Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Ozzy Osbourne, Prince, and the Beatles have all sold their souls to the devil for their piece of fame, but it is the lyrics to some of their songs that really tell the story. I will give one example, but do not feel the need to taint my blog with excessive content by these devils. Here is a sample of Jim Morrison/The Door`s “When the musics over”:

PraiseBots & WorshipBots

Oh come on, you know what they are! They are the “saints” who come to church each week and sing the same songs, clap their hands in unison, and only lift their hands in worship when told to do so by the worship leader. There is little to no reverence in their praise and worship! Come on church, the very fact that God woke you on any given day, not only Sunday, is cause for praise and worship! Before I became a Christian I used to go to concerts or even to the club and all the artist or deejay had to do was to say, “get your hands up”, and hands all over the venue would be in the air. Or he would say, “throw your hands in the air, and wave ’em like you just don’t care”, the crowd would go wild! How about this one, “somebody, anybody, everybody SCREAM”, people would lose their minds in those places. Is God not as worthy for the things that He has done? Jesus saved your soul, is that not cause for a hand waved in the air? Jesus rescued you from a lifetime of damnation, shouldn’t he be able to get a shout (or scream) of praise? See, the devil loves to mimic what God has done, so when David in Psalms 100 says to “Make a joyful noise to the Lord all ye lands (KJV)”, the devil says, “somebody scream”, and when he says in Psalms 134:2 to “Lift your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord”, the devil says, “throw your hands in the air…”. How sad that we are willing to give more honor to the devil than we are to our Lord and Savior! Think I’m lying, check videos of any Jay-Z, Kanye Worst or Eminem, or Lady Gagme concert.

Don’t be a Praise and WorshipBot, John 4:24 states that God is a spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Thanks for reading!
