Sacred + Profane = Abomination

Simple Math, Right?

Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them (Ezekiel 22:26).

Oh yes, we have all heard variations of this scripture at some time in our lives and probably thought, “well that’s not me because I am walking with the holiest of holies”, whatever that means. But are we? Do we stay away from the unclean and profane, or do we sit in the midst of it and pretend that it does not exist? I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful family movie today called “Courageous”; I urge all followers of Christ to see this film. If you will go and spend your money on music or a movie that does not glorify God and our Savior, I am saying that it should give you great pleasure to spend the same on a movie that does. This post is not about the movie though, but about a preview that I took note of while waiting for the movie to begin, and then other things stirred in my spirit. The movie is called Joyful Noise [Todd Graff, Director, 2011] and it is set to be released in January 2012. When the previews started I was really intrigiued for about two seconds; perhaps I was blinded by the beautiful purple choir robes, but as soon as I saw Queen Latifah in one I was smacked back into reality. I thought that this would be an inspirational movie based upon Psalms 100:1-2, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Uhhh, NO! Read the rest of this entry »

“Praise Is What I Do” – Enjoy the Video!

When somebody pays off a debt for you, don’t you owe them? I know a person who if they lend you $5 will stalk you every minute until they get all five of those dollars back. I am so glad that Jesus is not that way. He paid my debt of sin off and all that he asked me for in return is continual praise! This song, even without a video is so powerful. David said in Psalms 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” A few of the lyrics in this song state:

I vow to praise you, through the good and the bad. I’ll praise you, whether happy or sad. I’ll praise you, in all that I go through because praise is what I do. Because I owe it all to you.

“In the words of Satan” – The Arrows

I love this little video and song. It really embodies satan’s ultimate plan; we may not want to admit it but each one of us has been affected to some degree by the subtle workings of the devil. Watch, absorb and comment!

Why are we silent and the devil so loud?

I recently watched a documentary on the evil behind rock music and I was astonished by what I discovered. Not being a consumer of rock, heavy metal, death metal, etc. just learning what some of these people do to attain the small amount of fame and fortune astounded me. Of course I know that Satan is the prince of the air(waves), and I know that he influences a lot of the music that we hear, but I was shocked that during this documentary that I literally had to plead the blood of Jesus over myself whilst listening to some of the lyrics! The artists featured like Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Ozzy Osbourne, Prince, and the Beatles have all sold their souls to the devil for their piece of fame, but it is the lyrics to some of their songs that really tell the story. I will give one example, but do not feel the need to taint my blog with excessive content by these devils. Here is a sample of Jim Morrison/The Door`s “When the musics over”:
