Simple Math, Right?
Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them (Ezekiel 22:26).
Oh yes, we have all heard variations of this scripture at some time in our lives and probably thought, “well that’s not me because I am walking with the holiest of holies”, whatever that means. But are we? Do we stay away from the unclean and profane, or do we sit in the midst of it and pretend that it does not exist? I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful family movie today called “Courageous”; I urge all followers of Christ to see this film. If you will go and spend your money on music or a movie that does not glorify God and our Savior, I am saying that it should give you great pleasure to spend the same on a movie that does. This post is not about the movie though, but about a preview that I took note of while waiting for the movie to begin, and then other things stirred in my spirit. The movie is called Joyful Noise [Todd Graff, Director, 2011] and it is set to be released in January 2012. When the previews started I was really intrigiued for about two seconds; perhaps I was blinded by the beautiful purple choir robes, but as soon as I saw Queen Latifah in one I was smacked back into reality. I thought that this would be an inspirational movie based upon Psalms 100:1-2, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Uhhh, NO! Read the rest of this entry »
