Do you remember that teenage novel? It helped many of us girls come of age, and some boys too, if you’re being honest. The girl in that book had some issues, teenage angst to be sure, but issues none the less and she knew where to turn. Even though she knew who to turn to for answers it did not make her question any less naive. As Christians we have learned that God is omnipresent (everywhere), omnipotent (with unlimited power) and omniscient (all-knowing) so how is it that we can ask such silly questions as “are you there God?”, “Can you hear me God?”, “Don’t you care God?” What do we expect to hear from Him after we have posed such child-like questions to Him?
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10 KJV)
