A Prayer for the New Year

If you are reading this then it is for you!

I pray:

That we put away the Mayan calender, ignore the soothsayers and observe the times as Jesus instructed – But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father (Mark 13:32).

That instead of making resolutions we become more resolute in our walk with Christ – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58).

That we stop being swayed by every wind of doctrine, and stop following man, who is fallible, and follow Christ alone – Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).

That brotherly love will continue, and even through our differences we will understand that not everyone’s walk is the same, but Jesus wants us to restore and rebuild our broken brothers and sisters – Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins (1 Pet. 4:8 ESV) and

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted (Gal. 6:1).

That we not carry the past into the future, what’s done is done and you cannot go back and change it – Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14) and

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2).

…And Finally…

That many more people will see that Jesus truly is the Way, Truth and the Life – Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved (Romans 10:1).

Happy New Year!

God bless you,

Amen.

My personal scripture for 2012:

Psalms 121:1-2 – I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
